Counter-flow: Why does the dust cloud flow back into the center of the collapse?
Some thoughts on an interesting clip from MANY HI-RESOLUTION VIDEOS OF THE 9/11 :
Riconosciuto's bomb made suitcase nukes obsolete, because it achieved near-atomic explosive yields, but could be more easily minaturized. You could have a suitcase a-neutronic bomb, or a briefcase a-neutronic bomb, or simply a lady's purse a-neutronic bomb. Or just pull out your wallet for identification and... The Meridian Arms Corporation, as well as the Universities of California and Chicago owned a piece of the technology." http://educate-yourself.org/cn/2001/riconosciutoandtimosman8nov01.shtml
Another example of counter-flow:

Update
This clip shows the South Tower collapse from the north, with WTC-1 in the right foreground blocking part of the view. Starting about two seconds into the clip there is a very clear flow of the dust cloud down and toward the right, back toward the centerline of the building and down toward the basement.

Funny you should say that, I have noticed for some time that when I run the
ST demolition backward
(Region 1 Naudet 911 DVD clock marker 0:52:15)
a good deal of it looks EXplosive, like a FORWARD explosion.
Your post makes me want to spell it out.
It looks like a healthy tower is being formed from the ground up. Of
course.
Then, just above that rising healthy portion, the lower half or two thirds
of the rising dust cloud looks implosive, as expected.
But just above that, in the more mushroom-cap area, the upper half or third
of the rising dust cloud looks EXplosive.
Played BACKWARD, the rising TOP of the dust cloud EXplodes OUT,
and then FALLS DOWN,
and then RISES IMplodingly toward the core column area, where it (the
dust) forms into the shiny new rising top area of the growing healthy
portion of the tower.
It looks like the rising healthy portion is shooting dust up from its
core area. These "ejections" (as seen when played backward) loop
out,
down, back up, and back into the rising tower, becoming the tower as
its height grows.
I find it horribly fascinating to watch.
Thank you for spelling out that the dust cloud on the ground would have
been WAY MORE massive if it hadn't been for this anomalous vacuum action.
There may also be core-spire-column disintegrations to tease out
with enhancement.

In N911 it's an airborne shot from the south over the harbor. It does
a steady moderate zoomout during the demolition. A 'copter maybe a mile
south of the Battery, I figure.
